Hawaiian Holdings Inc is a holding company incorporated in the State of Delaware in April 2002. The Company's asset is the sole ownership of all issued and outstanding shares of common stock of Hawaiian Airlines, Inc. (Hawaiian). The Company through its subsidiaries is engaged in the scheduled air transportation of passengers and cargo amongst the Hawaiian Islands, between the Hawaiian Islands and certain cities in the United States, and between the Hawaiian Islands and the South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The Company offers non-stop service to Hawai'i from more U.S. gateway cities (11) than any other airline, and also provides approximately 160 daily flights between the Hawaiian Islands. In addition, it also operates various charter flights. Its fleet consisted of 18 Boeing 717-200 aircraft for the Neighbor Island routes and 12 Boeing 767-300 aircraft and 14 Airbus A330-200 aircraft for the North America, International and charter routes. It also purchased three ATR42 turboprop aircraft for the 'Ohana by Hawaiian' Neighbor Island service to begin in 2014. The Company's main competitors include Alaska Airlines, American, Continental, Northwest, Delta, United and US Airways. The Company's business is subject to extensive and evolving federal, state and local laws and regulations. Many governmental agencies regularly examine its operations to monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Governmental authorities can enforce compliance with applicable laws and regulations and obtain injunctions or impose civil or criminal penalties or modify, suspend or revoke its operating certificates in case of violations. The Company is subject to the regulatory jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration.
