Huntington Bancshares Inc is a multi-state financial holding company. It provides full-service commercial, small business, consumer, and mortgage banking services, as well as automobile financing, investment management services, & among others..

Huntington Bancshares Inc was organized under Maryland law in 1966 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. A multi-state financial holding company through its subsidiaries, it provides full-service commercial and consumer banking services, mortgage banking services, automobile financing, equipment leasing, investment management, trust services, brokerage services, customized insurance service programs, and other financial products and services. The Huntington National Bank, organized in 1866, is its only bank subsidiary. The Bank had 715 branches, 404 branches in Ohio, 179 branches in Michigan, 48 branches in Pennsylvania, 43 branches in Indiana, 31 branches in West Virginia, and 10 branches in Kentucky. The Bank's five business segments includes: Retail and Business Banking segment which provides financial products and services to consumer and small business customers located within primary banking markets consisting of five areas covering the six states of Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, West Virginia, and Kentucky; Regional and Commercial Banking segment, which provides products and services to the middle market and large corporate client base located within core geographic banking markets. Products and services are delivered through a relationship banking model and include commercial lending, as well as depository and liquidity management products; Automobile Finance and Commercial Real Estate segment, which provides lending and other banking products and services to customers outside of its normal retail or commercial channels. More specifically, it serves automotive dealerships, retail customers who obtain financing at the dealerships, professional real estate developers, REITs, and other customers with lending needs that are secured by commercial properties; and Wealth Advisors, Government Finance, and Home Lending segment which provides wealth management banking services to high net worth customers in primary banking markets and in Florida by utilizing a cohesive model that employs a unified sales force to deliver products and services directly and through the other segments. The Company competes with other banks and financial services companies such as savings and loans, credit unions, and finance and trust companies, as well as mortgage banking companies, automobile and equipment financing companies, insurance companies, mutual funds, investment advisors, and brokerage firms, both within and outside of market areas. As a financial holding company, the company is subject to regulation that focuses on effective internal controls and procedures.
