Business Description

Hampden Bancorp, Inc. serves as a holding company for its subsidiary, Hampden Bank. The company provides a number of financial services to individuals and small businesses through its Internet operations and offices in communities in Massachusetts. Its main deposit products are checking, savings, and term certificate accounts; and its lending products are residential mortgage and commercial loans. The bank engages in buying, selling, holding and otherwise dealing in securities. The company provides various type of loans include Residential Real Estate Loans, Commercial Real Estate Loans, Home Equity Loans, Construction Loans, Commercial Loans and Consumer Loans. Additionally, the company offers fixed-rate and adjustable-rate residential mortgage loans with maturities up to 30 years. The company also originates commercial real estate loans for terms of up to 10 years. Commercial real estate loans are generally secured by commercial properties, such as industrial properties, small office buildings, retail facilities, and warehouses. Deposits are the main source of funds for the company, and are used for lending and other investment purposes. Deposit products include checking, regular savings, money market deposits, time deposits, certificate of deposit accounts, and individual retirement accounts. Consumer and commercial deposits are primarily collected from the company's primary market area.
