The Company is a provider of commercial real estate and capital markets services to both the users and providers of capital in the U.S. commercial real estate industry and one of the full-service commercial real estate financial intermediaries in the country. Company operates in one reportable segment, the commercial real estate financial intermediary segment, and offer debt placement, investment sales, distressed debt and real estate owned advisory services, structured finance, private equity placement, investment banking and advisory services, loan sales and commercial loan servicing. Company's services include: Debt Placement Services, offer its clients access to a complete range of debt instruments, including construction and construction/mini-permanent loans, adjustable and fixed rate mortgages, entity level debt, mezzanine debt, forward delivery loans, tax exempt financing and sale/leaseback financing. Investment Sales Services, provide investment sales services to commercial real estate owners who are seeking to sell one or more properties or property interests. Structured Finance and Private Equity Services, offer a wide array of structured finance and private equity alternatives and solutions at both the property and ownership entity level. Private Equity, Investment Banking and Advisory Services, offer its clients the ability to access the private equity markets for an identified commercial real estate asset and discretionary private equity funds, joint ventures, entity-level private placements and advisory services as well as structured finance services. Loan Sales, Company assist its clients in their efforts to sell all or portions of their commercial real estate debt note portfolios, which can include performing, non-performing and distressed debt and/or real estate owned properties. Commercial Loan Servicing, provide commercial loan servicing for life insurance companies, Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, Fannie Mae through strategic relationships with several delegated underwriting and servicing lenders, CMBS originators, mortgage REITS and debt funds, groups that purchase performing and/or non-performing loans as well as owners who sell commercial real estate subject to a purchase money mortgage. Company competes with CBRE Capital Markets, Cushman & Wakefield, Eastdil Secured (owned by Wells Fargo), Jones Lang LaSalle, Colliers, Cassidy Turley, Walker Dunlop, Marcus & Milichap, Newmark/Frank, Northmarq Capital and Meridian and Berkadia. Its U.S. broker-dealer subsidiary, HFF Securities, is subject to regulation. HFF Securities is currently registered as a broker-dealer with the SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
