Business Description

Highpower International, Inc. was incorporated in the state of Delaware on January 3, 2006. The Company has developed significant expertise in Ni-MH battery technology and large-scale manufacturing that enables it to improve the quality of its battery products, reduce costs, and keep pace with evolving industry standards. It's Ni-MH rechargeable batteries have been developed to respond to a number of specific market requirements such as recyclability, high power, high energy density, long life, low cost and other important characteristics for consumer and OEM applications. They are suitable for almost all applications where high currents and deep discharges are required. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Springpower Technology (Shenzhen) Co, Ltd., is a company that specializes in the research, manufacturing and marketing Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. Its automated machinery allows it to process key aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure high uniformity and precision, while leaving the non-key aspects of the manufacturing process to manual labor. The Company produces a line of batteries, falling into two main categories: Consumer Batteries and Industrial Batteries. Relative to ordinary Ni-Cad rechargeable batteries, as well as their non-rechargeable counterparts, its Ni-MH and Li-ion batteries offer higher power capacity allowing for longer working time and shortened charging time during equivalent working periods. It produces A, AA and AAA sized batteries in blister packing as well as chargers and battery packs. Industrial batteries are designed for electric bikes, power tools and electric toys. They are specifically designed for high-drain discharge applications, possessing low internal resistance, more power, and longer discharging time. The Company's main competitors in the Ni-MH battery market or other similar competing rechargeable battery products include SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. Global, Matsushita Industrial Co., Ltd. (Panasonic), BYD Company Ltd., GPI International, Ltd., and GS Yuasa Corporation. Its competitors in the lithium battery market or other similar competing rechargeable battery products include Desay Corp., Coslight Group, Tianjin Lishen Battery Co. Ltd., and ATL. The Company's operations are subject to PRC laws and regulations.
