Healthcare Realty Trust Inc is a real estate investment trust which owns, acquires, manages, finances and develops income-producing real estate properties associated with the delivery of outpatient healthcare services throughout the United States.

Healthcare Realty Trust Inc was incorporated in Maryland in 1992. It is a self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust that integrates owning, managing, financing, and developing properties associated with the delivery of outpatient healthcare services throughout the United States. The Company maintains a conservative business-risk profile, with a portfolio focused on medical office and outpatient facilities. The Company's portfolio of medical office and outpatient properties is diversified by geographic location, physician specialties, and healthcare system affiliation. The Company seeks to own and operate medical-related facilities that produce stable and growing rental income. The Company's real estate properties are located in approximately 30 states. The Company competes for the acquisition and development of real estate properties with private investors, healthcare providers, other REITs, real estate partnerships and financial institutions, among others.The facilities owned by the Company are utilized by medical tenants which are required to comply with extensive regulation at the federal, state, and local levels, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010.
