Hill-Rom Holdings Inc is engaged in selling and renting patient support and near-patient technologies and services, and health information technology solutions in the U.S. and Canada.

Hill-Rom Holdings Inc was incorporated on August 7, 1969 in the State of Indiana. The Company is a manufacturer and provider of medical technologies and related services for the health care industry, including patient support systems, safe mobility and handling solutions, non-invasive therapeutic products for a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, medical equipment rentals and information technology solutions. Health care providers use the Company's comprehensive product and service offerings across the health care continuum in hospitals, extended care facilities and home care settings, to enhance the safety and quality of patient care. The Company operates in three segments namely North America, Surgical and Respiratory Care and International. The North America segment sells and rents its patient support and near-patient technologies and services, as well as health information technology solutions in the U.S. and Canada. The Surgical and Respiratory Care segment sells and rents surgical and respiratory care products. The International segment sells and rents its products outside of the U.S. and Canada. The Company sells and rent its product to acute and extended care health care facilities through both direct sales force and distributors. It also sell products to patients in the home. It competes on the basis of clinical expertise such as as Joerns Healthcare , Freedom Medical, Inc., Covidien, Ltd., Action Medical, Electromed, Inc.
