Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc., was formed on November 15, 1953. The Company along with its subsidiaries offers services such as Executive Search, Culture Shaping, and Leadership Consulting. The Company along with its subsidiaries facilitates the clients in recruitment, management and deployment of senior executives. It offers access to decision makers, facilitates recurring search and consulting engagements, higher fees per search, brand visibility, and a leveraged international footprint. In addition to executive search, the Company also provides a range of other services to its clients such as culture shaping and leadership consulting services which includes executive assessment, leadership development, board and top team effectiveness, and succession planning. The Company provides its services to a range of clients through the expertise of approximately 300 consultants. The Company's search process consists of analyzing the client's business needs in order to understand its organizational structure, relationships, and culture; determine the required set of skills for the position; define the required experience; and identify the other characteristics of successful candidates; select, contact, interview and evaluate candidates on the basis of experience and the cultural fit with the client's organization; present confidential written reports on the candidates who potentially fit the position's specifications; schedule a mutually convenient meeting between the client and each candidate; complete references on the final candidate selected by the client; and assist the client in structuring the compensation package and supporting the successful candidate's integration into the client's team. The Company's consulting services includes succession planning, executive assessment, talent retention management, executive development, transition consulting for newly appointed executives, and mergers and acquisitions human capital integration consulting. The Company provides its executive search services on a retained basis, recruiting senior executives The Company's clients are from sectors such as Fortune 1000 companies; non-U.S. companies; Middle market and emerging growth companies; Governmental, higher education and not-for-profit organizations; and other private and public entities. The Company's direct competition comes from four established retained executive search firms that conduct searches mainly for the senior-level positions within an organization. Its competitors include Egon Zehnder International, Korn/Ferry International, Russell Reynolds Associates, Inc. and Spencer Stuart & Associates. It also faces competition from Internet-based firms and smaller boutiques that specialize in certain regional markets or industry segments.
