The Company changed its name from Solarfun Power Holdings Co., Ltd. to Hanwha SolarOne Co., Ltd. on December 20, 2010. It is an investment holding company. The Company is engaged in manufacturing of silicon ingots, silicon wafers, PV cells and PV modules in China. The Company also provides PV module processing services. It sells PV cells and PV modules both directly to system integrators and through third party distributors. The Company conducts its business in China through SolarOne Qidong. The Company's products include silicon ingots, silicon wafers, PV cells and PV modules. It also provides PV module processing services. The Company manufactures its silicon ingots through SolarOne Technology, one of its subsidiaries modules on behalf of a related party and the company manufactures its wafers, PV cells and PV modules through SolarOne Qidong, PRC subsidiary. The Company sells its PV modules through distributors and directly to system integrators. Its customers include international solar power system integrators and distributors. The Company's competitors in China include Trina Solar Ltd., Yingli Green Energy Holdings Co., Ltd., Canadian Solar Inc. and Jinko Solar Co., Ltd. The Company's manufacturing facilities are subject to various pollution control regulations with respect to noise and air pollution and the disposal of waste and hazardous materials. The Company is also subject to periodic inspections by local environmental protection authorities.
