The Company provides SaaS-based workforce development solutions and research/patient experience solutions for healthcare organizations, all designed to assess and develop the people that deliver patient care which, in turn, supports the improvement of business and clinical outcomes. The products and services are organized into two segments: HealthStream Workforce Development Solutions (formerly referenced as HealthStream Learning & Talent Management) and HealthStream Research/Patient Experience Solutions (formerly referenced as HealthStream Research) that collectively help healthcare organizations meet their ongoing training, education, assessment, competency management, and compliance needs. Within HealthStream Workforce Development Solutions, the Company brings training, assessment, talent development, and talent management solutions together with administrative and management tools on its platform through its HLC, HCC (HealthStream Competency Center), and HPC (HealthStream Performance Center). It also offers a more streamlined version of the HLC, HealthStream Express, along with HealthStream Connect, a content delivery platform that is designed for the singular purpose of allowing access to its extensive content libraries. Its workforce development solutions support healthcare administrators in configuring training to meet the specific needs of various groups of employees, modifying training materials, documenting training completion, and facilitating competency assessments, and performance appraisals. HealthStream Research/Patient Experience Solutions provide hospital-based customers with Patient Insights, Employee Insights, Physician Insights, and Community Insights surveys, data analyses of survey results, and other research-based measurement tools. The customers of the Company include entities within the healthcare industry, including healthcare organizations (including government entities) and pharmaceutical and medical device companies. The Company markets products and services primarily through its direct sales teams, its consultants, and its account relationship managers, who are based at its corporate headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee and in additional offices located in Laurel, Maryland, Brentwood, Tennessee, and Pensacola, Florida as well as remote home office sales locations.
