Hubbell, Inc. or Hubbell was founded as a proprietorship in 1888 and was incorporated in Connecticut in 1905. The Company is mainly engaged in the design, manufacture and sale of quality electrical and electronic products for a range of non-residential and residential construction, industrial and utility applications. Its operations are classified into two segments: Electrical and Power. The Electrical segment is comprised of businesses that sell stock and custom products including standard and special application wiring device products, rough-in electrical products, connector and grounding products, lighting fixtures and controls, as well as other electrical equipment. The products are typically used in and around industrial, commercial and institutional facilities by electrical contractors, maintenance personnel, electricians and telecommunications companies. Hubbell designs, manufactures and sells thousands of wiring and electrical products which are supplied principally to industrial, non-residential and residential customers. These products are sold under a number of brand and trademarks, such as Hubbell, Raco, Victor, Kellems, Bell, GAI-Tronics, Bryant, Wiegmann, Gleason Reel, Burndy, Killark, Haefely, Wejtap, Hawke, Hipotronics, Implo, Chalmit, and Austdac. Hubbell manufactures and sells lighting fixtures and controls for indoor and outdoor applications within residential, commercial, institutional and industrial markets. These products are sold under a number of brand and trademarks, such as Kim Lighting, Sportsliter Solutions, Kurt Versen, Beacon Products, Architectural Area Lighting, Security Lighting Systems, Sterner Lighting, Prescolite, Precision-Paragon, Hubbell Building Automation, Spaulding Lighting, Alera Lighting, Dual-Lite, Progress Lighting, and Hubbell Outdoor Lighting. The Power segment consists of operations that design and manufacture various transmission, distribution, substation and telecommunications products mainly used by the electrical utility industry. In addition, certain of these products are used in the civil construction and transportation industries. Products are sold to distributors and directly to users such as electric utilities, telecommunication companies, pipeline and mining operations, industrial firms, construction and engineering firms. Hubbell manufactures and sells a number of electrical distribution, transmission, and substation products. These products are sold under a number of brand and trademarks, such as Ohio Brass, Chance , Anderson, Fargo, Hubbell, Polycast, Quazite, Quadri*sil, Comcore, Electro Composites, USCO, CDR, Hot Box, PCORE, and Delmar. The Company has several operations located outside of the United States. Raw materials used in the manufacture of Hubbell products mainly include steel, aluminum, brass, copper, bronze, plastics, phenolics, zinc, nickel, elastomers and petrochemicals.
