Chipmos Technologies Bermuda Ltd is a holding company, incorporated in Bermuda on August 2000. The Company is a provider of semiconductor testing and assembly services. It provides a range of back-end testing services, including wafer probing and final testing of memory and logic/mixed-signal semiconductors. It also offers a broad selection of leadframe-based and organic substrate-based package assembly services for memory and logic/mixed-signal semiconductors. Its advanced leadframe-based packages include thin small outline packages, or TSOPs and its advanced organic substrate-based packages include fine-pitch ball grid array, or fine-pitch BGA, packages. In addition, it provides gold bumping, testing and assembly services for LCD and other flat-panel display driver semiconductors by employing TCP, COF and COG technologies. The Company provides its services through its wholly owned subsidiary, ChipMOS Taiwan, and its subsidiaries and investees. It conducts business through four business segments namely, Testing which includes testing services for memory and logic/mixed-signal semiconductors; Assembly which includes assembly services for memory and logic/mixed-signal semiconductors; LCD and other flat-panel display driver semiconductor testing and assembly services and Bumping which includes bumping services for memory, logic/mixed-signal and LCD and other flat-panel display driver semiconductors.It provides testing services through four facilities in Taiwan and one facility in Shanghai, with one facility at Chupei, the Hsinchu Industrial Park, the Hsinchu Science Park, the Southern Taiwan Science Park and the Shanghai Qingpu Industrial Zone. The Company's competitors include large IDMs with in-house testing and assembly capabilities and other independent semiconductor testing and assembly companies, especially those offering vertically integrated testing and assembly services, such as Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc., Amkor Technology, Inc., Chipbond Technology Corporation, King Yuan Electronics Co., Ltd., Powertech Technology Inc., Siliconware Precision, STATS ChipPAC Ltd. and United Test and Assembly Center Ltd.
