ING Groep NV offers banking services. Its segments include Retail Banking (Retail Netherlands, Retail Belgium, Retail Germany and Retail Rest of World) and Commercial Banking.

ING Groep NV was established as a Naamloze Vennootschap (a Dutch public limited liability company) on 4 March 1991, through the merger of Nationale-Nederlanden and NMB Postbank Group. The Company offers banking, investments and retirement services. Its segments comprise of Retail Netherlands, Retail Belgium, Retail Germany, Retail rest of the World, and Commercial Banking. Retail Banking segment provides banking services to individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe, Asia and Australia. Its geographical reach consists of Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Australia and Poland, and other markets include Spain, France, Austria, Italy, Romania, Turkey and India. Retail Netherlands segment offers current and savings accounts, business lending, mortgages and other consumer lending in the Netherlands. Retail Belgium segment offers current and savings accounts, business lending, mortgages and other consumer lending in Belgium. Retail Germany segment offers current and savings accounts, mortgages and other customer lending. Retail Rest of World segment offers current and savings accounts, business lending, mortgages and other consumer lending. Commercial Banking segment offers wholesale banking activities ranging from cash management to corporate finance, real estate and lease. The Company is subject to insurance, asset management and other financial services laws and government regulations in the jurisdictions in which it conducts business.
