Israel Chemicals Ltd was established in 1968. The Company is a multi-national enterprise, which operates in the fields of fertilizers and specialty chemicals, in three reporting segments fertilizers, industrial products and performance products. The segments include; ICL Fertilizers, ICL Fertilizers extracts potash from the Dead Sea and mines and produces potash and salt from subterranean mines in Spain and the UK; ICL Industrial Products, it produces bromine out of a solution that is created as a by-product of the potash production process in Sodom, Israel, as well as bromine-based compounds; ICL Performance Products, it cleans some of the agricultural phosphoric acid manufactured by ICL Fertilizers, purchases clean phosphoric acid from other sources and also manufactures thermal phosphoric acid. It operates in Europe, Asia, South America, North America, Israel and others. Its competitors include PCS (Canada), Belaruskali (Belarus), Mosaic (Canada and the United States), Uralkali (Russia). ICL Fertilizers produces internally most of the raw materials used in its production processes. ICL Specialty Fertilizers has 13 groups of patents. Its products include Potash, Phosphate rock, Phosphoric and sulfuric acids, Sulfur, Soluble fertilizers.
