Kandi Technologies Corporation was incorporated under the laws of the State of Delaware on March 31, 2004. On August 13, 2007, the Company changed its name from Stone Mountain Resources, Inc. to Kandi Technologies, Corp. The operations of the Company is designing, developing, manufacturing, and commercializing all-terrain vehicles ("ATVs"), go-karts, and specialized automobiles, such as electric vehicles ("EVs") for the PRC and global markets. The Company's products include off-road vehicles which include ATVs, utility vehicles ("UTVs"), and go-karts, motorcycles, refitted cars and super-mini-cars. It also produces four-wheeled ATVs and specialized UTVs, which are ATVs special-fitted for agricultural and industrial use. In August 2008, Kandi began selling its gas-powered super-mini-car. In fiscal year 2010, due to the Chinese government's initiative and promotion of new energy cars, the Company shifted its target market, for its EV products, from the United States to China. The three-wheeled motorcycle (TT) is changing from a recreational vehicle that is not street legal to a formal vehicle that is subject to additional regulations and certifications. The Company's sales are made through trading companies, which distribute its products to local and global customers. The Company manufactures the major components of its vehicles by itself. Other components and parts needed are purchased from expertise suppliers and specialized manufacturers. The federal government and individual states have promulgated or are considering promulgating laws and regulations relating to the use and safety of the Company's products. The Company's motorcycles are subject to federal vehicle safety standards administered by NHTSA. Its motorcycles are also subject to various state vehicle safety standards.
