Business Description

Key Technology Inc. was founded in 1948 as a local producer of vegetable processing equipment. The Company and its operating subsidiaries design, manufacture, sell and service process automation systems that process product streams of discrete pieces to improve safety and quality. These systems integrate electro-optical automated inspection and sorting systems with process systems that include specialized conveying and preparation equipment. The Company provides parts and service for each of its product lines to customers throughout the world. It maintains manufacturing facilities in Walla Walla, Washington, Redmond, Oregon and Beusichem, The Netherlands. The Company's current manufacturing facilities and its product design and manufacturing processes integrate Computer Aided Engineering, Finite Element Analysis, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing and Computer Integrated Manufacturing technologies. It markets its equipment worldwide both directly and through independent sales representatives. The Company's competitors include Heat & Control, Inc. and its subsidiaries, BEST N.V., Sortex Ltd., Kiremko B.V., Odenburg Inc, Meyer Industries, Inc.
