China Life Insurance Co Ltd was formed on 30 June, 2003. The Company is a life insurance company in China. Its products and services include individual life insurance, group life insurance, and accident and health insurance. The Company is a provider of individual and group life insurance, annuity products and accident and health insurance in China. The Company operates in five operating segments: Individual life insurance business, Group life insurance business, Short-term insurance business, Supplementary major medical insurance business, and Other business. The Individual life insurance business relates primarily to the sale of long-term insurance contracts and universal contracts which are mainly term life, whole life, endowment and annuity products, to individuals. The Group life insurance business relates primarily to the sale of long-term insurance contracts and investment contracts, which are mainly term life, whole life and annuity products, to group entities. The Short-term insurance business relates primarily to the sale of short-term insurance contracts, which are mainly the short-term accident and health insurance contracts. The Supplementary major medical insurance business relates primarily to the sale of supplementary major medical insurance contracts to urban and rural residents.
