China Life Insurance Co Ltd was formed on 30 June, 2003. The Company is a life insurance company in China. Its products and services include individual life insurance, group life insurance, and accident and health insurance. The Company is a provider of individual and group life insurance, annuity products and accident and health insurance in China. The Company operates in five operating segments: Individual life insurance business, Group life insurance business, Short-term insurance business, Supplementary major medical insurance business, and Other business. The Individual life insurance business relates to the sale of long-term insurance contracts and universal contracts which are mainly term life, whole life, endowment and annuity products, to individuals. The Group life insurance business relates to the sale of long-term insurance contracts and investment contracts, which are mainly term life, whole life and annuity products, to group entities. The Short-term insurance business relates to the sale of short-term insurance contracts, which are mainly the short-term accident and health insurance contracts. The Supplementary major medical insurance business relates to the sale of supplementary major medical insurance contracts to urban and rural residents.
