Linear Technology is a Delaware corporation. It was organized and incorporated in California in 1981. The Company designs, manufactures and markets linear integrated circuits. The Company's products include high performance amplifiers, comparators, voltage references, monolithic filters, linear regulators, DC-DC converters, battery chargers, data converters, communications interface circuits, RF signal conditioning circuits, µModuleTM products, and many other analog functions. The Company's principal product categories are as follows: Amplifiers; High Speed Amplifiers; Voltage Regulators; Voltage References; Interface; Data Converters; Radio Frequency Circuits; Power Over Ethernet Controllers; DC/DC µModule Power Systems; and Signal Chain Modules. The Company markets its products through a direct sales staff and through electronics distributors to a broad range of customers in diverse industries. The Company's wafer fabrication facilities are located in Camas, Washington and Milpitas, California. Each facility was built to Company specifications to support a number of sophisticated process technologies and to satisfy rigorous quality assurance and reliability requirements of United States military specifications and major worldwide OEM customers. The Company's basic process technologies include high-speed bipolar, high gain low noise bipolar, radio frequency bipolar, silicon gate complementary metal-oxide semiconductor and BiCMOS. The Company's major competitors include Analog Devices, National Semiconductor, Intersil, Maxim Integrated Products and Texas Instruments. Federal, state and local regulations impose various environmental controls on the storage, use, discharge and disposal of certain chemicals and gases used in semiconductor processing.
