LMI Aerospace, Inc., is a provider of design engineering services, structural assemblies, kits and components to the aerospace, defense, and technology markets. The company provides an array of manufacturing capabilities and services to the commercial, corporate, regional and military aircraft and technology markets. LMI Aerospace is a supplier to aircraft original equipment manufacturers or OEMs and Tier 1 aerospace suppliers. In addition to aerospace products, it produces components and assemblies for laser equipment used by semiconductor and medical equipment manufacturers in the technology industry. The company also provides prototyping and design capabilities to customers to support new product development. LMI Aerospace operates in two business segments consisting of its Aerostructures segment and its Engineering Services segment. Through the company's Aerostructures segment, it assemble, kit, fabricate, machine, finish and integrate formed, close tolerance aluminum and specialty alloy components and sheet metal products mainly for commercial, corporate, regional and military aircraft. LMI Aerospace manufactures more than 40,000 products for integration into a variety of aircraft platforms manufactured by OEMs, and Tier 1 aerospace suppliers. The company also offers its customers services related to the design, production, assembly and distribution of aerospace components, and deliver kits of products directly to customer points of use. LMI Aerospace's Engineering Services segment, provides a complete range of design, engineering and program management services, supporting aircraft lifecycles from conceptual design, analysis and certification through production support, fleet support and service life extensions via a complete turnkey engineering solution, including: structural design and analysis; systems design and integration; tool design and fabrication; certification planning and support; logistics and fleet maintainability; program management support; and avionics and tactical software development. The company delivers an array of fabrication capabilities ranging from a single-piece component to complex, multiple-quantity orders. LMI Aerospace could bend, stretch, draw, and stamp a myriad of materials including aluminum alloys, stainless steel, titanium, hasteloy and other metals. The company organizes its manufacturing facilities by work centers focusing on a particular manufacturing process. It produces components using close-tolerance machining methods.
