LoJack Corporation was organized as a Massachusetts corporation in 1978. The Company is a provider of technology products and services for the tracking and recovery of valuable mobile assets and people at risk of wandering, or people at risk. It develops and markets a variety of products designed to track and recover stolen vehicles, construction equipment, motorcycles, cargo, people at risk and hazardous materials. It offers LoJack Unit, a LoJack System component that consists of a high frequency transponder with a hidden antenna, microprocessor, and power supply, as well as a set of codes unique to the unit; and LoJack Early Warning Unit, an optional component that provides notification to vehicle owners in the event of unauthorized user operating the vehicle. North America Segment comprises of the sale of LoJack Units, LoJack Early Warning, and extended warranty products to consumers. The products are distributed through a network consisting of dealers of new and used vehicles. It sells products in 28 states and the District of Columbia in the United States, as well as Canada including recovery products and services in the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec. It also offers warranty products at the point of sale to new customers. International Segment encompasses licensed stolen vehicle recovery technology that is operational in 30 countries and territories around the world. It primarily derives revenues from the licensees, royalties, licensing fees, and subscription and installation services. All Other Segment encompasses sale, lease or service of tracking devices as well as provision of monitoring service. This segment includes LoJack SafetyNet Inc., which provides technology for the tracking and rescue of people at risk of wandering, and LoJack SC-Integrity, Inc., which provides technology for the tracking and recovery of valuable cargo and business information.
