LG Display Co Ltd were incorporated in 1985 under the laws of the Republic of Korea under the original name of LG Soft, Ltd. The Company thin-film transistor liquid crystal display, or TFT-LCD, technology and other display panel technologies, including OLED technology. The Company manufactures display panels in a range of sizes and specifications for use in televisions, notebook computers, desktop monitors, tablet computers and various other applications, including mobile devices. It also manufacture TFT-LCD panels for industrial and other applications, including entertainment systems, automotive displays, portable navigation devices and medical diagnostic equipment. It operates a total of thirteen panel fabrication facilities, including expansions to certain facilities, located in its Display Clusters in Gumi and Paju, Korea. The Companys competitors are Samsung Display and Hydis Technologies in Korea, Japan Display, Sharp and Panasonic LCD in Japan, AU Optronics, Innolux, Chunghwa Picture Tubes and HannStar Display in Taiwan; BOE and China Star Optoelectronics in China.
