Manhattan Associates Inc was founded in 1990 in Manhattan Beach, California and incorporated in Georgia in 1998. The Company develops, sells, deploys, services, and maintains supply chain commerce software solutions for retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, governments, and other organizations. Its supply chain commerce software solution portfolios Manhattan SCOPE and Manhattan SCALETM are designed to leverage its platform investments to deliver both the profitability benefits typically associated with supply chain improvements and top line revenue gains created by commerce initiatives. Manhattan SCOPE (Supply Chain Optimization, Planning through Execution) leverages its Supply Chain Process PlatformTM(SCPP) to bring together the supply and commerce chains; Manhattan SCALE (Supply Chain Architected for Logistics Execution) leverages Microsofts .NET platform to unify logistics functions. Its solutions operate across Unix, IBM System i, Linux and Microsoft.NET computing platforms, as well as on multiple hardware platforms and systems. The Company advises and assists its customers in planning and implementing its solutions through its Professional Services Organization. To ensure long-term successful customer relationships, consultants assist customers with the initial deployment of its systems, the conversion and transfer of the customers historical data onto its systems, and ongoing training, education, and system upgrades. It offers a comprehensive program that provides its customers with software upgrades for additional or improved functionality and technological advances incorporating emerging supply chain and industry initiatives. It offers training in a structured environment for new and existing users. The Companys customers are suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and logistics providers in a variety of industries. Its solutions are solely focused on the supply chain planning and execution markets, which have been consolidating rapidly, are competitive, and are characterized by technological change. The Companys competitors include: Corporate information technology departments of current or potential customers capable of internally developing solutions; ERP vendors, including Oracle, SAP, and Infor, among others; Supply chain execution vendors, including JDA Software Group, Inc.
