Matthews International Corporation was founded in 1850 and incorporated in Pennsylvania in 1902. The Company is a designer, manufacturer and marketer principally of memorialization products and brand solutions. Memorialization products consist of bronze memorials and other memorialization products, caskets and cremation equipment for the cemetery and funeral home industries. The Company's products and operations are comprised Cemetery Products, Funeral Home Products, Cremation, Graphics Imaging, Marking and Fulfillment Systems and Merchandising Solutions. The Cemetery Products segment is a manufacturer of cast bronze and granite memorials and other memorialization products, cast and etched architectural products and is a builder of mausoleums in the United States. The Funeral Home Products segment is a casket manufacturer and distributor in North America and produces a wide variety of wood, metal and cremation caskets. The Cremation segment is a designer and manufacturer of cremation equipment in North America and Europe. The Graphics Imaging segment manufactures and provides brand management, printing plates, gravure cylinders, pre-press services and imaging services for the primary packaging and corrugated industries. The Marking and Fulfillment Systems segment designs, manufactures and distributes a wide range of marking and coding equipment and consumables, industrial automation products and order fulfillment systems for identifying, tracking, picking and conveying consumer and industrial products. The Merchandising Solutions segment designs and manufactures merchandising displays and systems and provides creative merchandising and marketing solutions services. The Company has manufacturing and marketing facilities in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia. The Company's operations are subject to various federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to the protection of the environment.
