Marcus Corporation is a Wisconsin Corporation founded in 1935. The Company is engaged in the lodging and entertainment industries. It is engaged mainly in two business segments: movie theatres and hotels and resorts. The Company's movie theatre division currently owns or manages 55 movie theatre locations with a total of 685 screens in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Ohio. The Company's Hotels and Resorts own and manage a portfolio of hotels, resorts and other properties. Some of the hotels & resortes owned & operated by the company include: The Pfister Hotel, The Hilton Milwaukee City Center, Hilton Madison at Monona Terrace, The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, Hotel Phillips, InterContinental Milwaukee, Skirvin Hilton Four Points by Sheraton Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile, The Cornhusker & A Marriott Hotel & Managed. It also manages hotels, resorts and other properties for third parties, typically under long-term management agreements. Some of the properties it manages include: Crowne Plaza-Northstar Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota; The Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in North Hollywood, California & the Hilton Garden Inn Houston NW/Chateau in Houston, Texas. It also provides hospitality management services, including check-in, housekeeping and maintenance, for a vacation ownership development adjacent to the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa owned by Orange Lake Resort & Country Club of Orlando, Florida. Its hotels and resorts compete with the hotels and resorts operated and/or franchised by Hyatt Corporation, Marriott Corporation, Hilton Worldwide, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and others, along with other regional and local hotels and resorts. Federal, state and local environmental legislation have not had a material effect on its capital expenditures, earnings or competitive position.
