Mountain Province Diamonds Inc is a Toronto-based diamond mining company, was incorporated on December 2, 1986. The Company along with De Beers Canada, its joint venture partner, is engaged in the exploration of diamond in the Gahcho Kue in Canada's Northwest Territories. The Project covers approximately 10,353 acres, and encompasses four mining leases held in trust by the Operator, De Beers. The Project hosts four primary kimberlite bodies Hearne, Tuzo, Tesla, and 5034. The Company's exploration and development activities, as well as future mining and processing operations in Canada, are subject to various laws governing land use, the protection of the environment, prospecting, development, production, exports, taxes, labour standards, occupational health, waste disposal, toxic substances, mine safety and other matters.
