Methanex Corp was incorporated under the laws of Alberta on March 11, 1968 and was continued under the Canada Business Corporations Act on March 5, 1992. The Company produces and markets methanol, a chemical that is used to make a range of industrial, consumer and energy products. The Company is the supplier of methanol to the international markets of North America, Asia Pacific and Europe and Latin America. The company owns and operates methanol production facilities in Chile, Trinidad and New Zealand and Egypt. The Company's production hubs in Chile, Trinidad, Egypt, Canada and New Zealand have a total annual production capacity of approximately 7.3 million tonnes. In addition to the methanol it produces, the company purchases methanol produced by others under methanol purchase contracts and on the spot market. It currently owns a fleet of 18 ocean-going vessels to ship methanol. The Company sells methanol on a worldwide basis to every major market through marketing and distribution system with marketing offices in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East.
