Mueller Industries Inc is a manufacturer of plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and industrial products. The Company's business segments are Plumbing & Refrigeration and Original Equipment Manufacturers.

Mueller Industries Inc is a Delaware corporation and was incorporated on October 3, 1990. The Company is a manufacturer of copper, brass, plastic, and aluminum products. The range of these products is broad: copper tube and fittings; brass and copper alloy rod, bar, and shapes; aluminum and brass forgings; aluminum and copper impact extrusions; plastic pipe, fittings and valves; refrigeration valves and fittings; fabricated tubular products; and steel nipples. The Company also resells imported brass and plastic plumbing valves, malleable iron fittings, faucets and plumbing specialty products. The Company's business segments are Industrial Metals, Piping Systems, and Climate Products. The Piping Systems segment is composed of the following operating segments: Domestic Piping Systems Group, Canadian Operations, European Operations, Trading Group, Mueller-Xingrong, and Jungwoo-Mueller. The Domestic Piping Systems Group manufactures copper tube and fittings, plastic fittings, and line sets. These products are manufactured in the U.S. and sold in North America. The Industrial Metals segment is composed of the following operating segments: Brass Rod & Copper Bar Products, Impacts & Micro Gauge, and Brass Value-Added Products. These businesses manufacture brass rod, impact extrusions, and forgings, as well as end products including plumbing brass, automotive components, valves, fittings, and gas assemblies. These products are manufactured in the U.S. and sold to OEMs in the U.S., many of which are in the industrial, construction, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, plumbing, and refrigeration markets. The Climate segment is composed of the following operating segments: Refrigeration Products, Fabricated Tube Products, Westermeyer, and Turbotec. These domestic businesses manufacture and fabricate valves and assemblies for the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration markets in the U.S. The Company's competitors include Cerro Flow Products, Inc., Cambridge-Lee Industries LLC, and KobeWieland Copper Products LLC, Elkhart Products Company, NIBCO, Inc., Charlotte Pipe & Foundry, and other companies. The Company is subject to environmental standards imposed by federal, state, local, and foreign environmental laws and regulations.
