Midsouth Bancorp Inc is a financial holding company. The Company is a financial holding company. It operates in the community banking business by providing banking services to commercial and retail customers through the Bank.

Midsouth Bancorp Inc was incorporated in 1984 in the state of Louisiana. The Company is a financial holding company. It operates in the community banking business by providing banking services to commercial and retail customers through the Bank. The Bank is community oriented and focuses on offering competitive commercial and consumer loan and deposit services to individuals and small to middle market businesses in Louisiana and central and east Texas. Deposit products and services offered by the Bank include interest-bearing and non interest-bearing checking accounts, investment accounts, cash management services, and electronic banking services, including remote deposit capturing services, internet banking, and debit and credit cards. It faces competition in the market areas from both traditional and non traditional financial services providers, such as commercial banks; savings banks; credit unions; finance companies; mortgage, leasing, and insurance companies; money market mutual funds; brokerage houses; and branches that provide credit facilities. The Company is subject to regulation under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956.
