Business Description

Matador Resources Company was formed in the state of Texas in July 2003. The company is an independent energy company engaged in the exploration, development, production and acquisition of oil and natural gas resources in the United States, with a particular emphasis on oil and natural gas shale plays and other unconventional resource plays. Its current operations are located primarily in the Eagle Ford shale play in south Texas and the Haynesville shale play in northwest Louisiana and east Texas. These plays are a key part of its growth strategy, and it believes they currently represent two of the active and economically viable unconventional resource plays in North America. The company expects the majority of its near-term capital expenditures focus on increasing its production and reserves from the Eagle Ford and Haynesville shale plays as it seeks to capitalize on the relative economics of each play. In addition to these primary operating areas, it has acreage positions in southeast New Mexico and west Texas and in southwest Wyoming and adjacent areas in Utah and Idaho where it continues to identify new oil and natural gas prospects. The daily production come approximately 42.5 MMcfe per day. Its properties included approximately 52,000 gross acres and 29,000 net acres in the Eagle Ford shale play in Atascosa, DeWitt, Dimmit, Karnes, La Salle, Gonzales, Webb, Wilson and Zavala Counties in south Texas. The company's goal is to increase shareholder value by building reserves, production and cash flows at an attractive return on invested capital. It plans to achieve its goal by executing the following strategies: Focus Exploration and Development Activity on its Eagle Ford and Haynesville Shale Assets; It currently participate in various drilling activities with larger industry participants, including affiliates of Chesapeake Energy Corporation, EOG Resources, Inc., Royal Dutch Shell plc and others. It is also active participants in three industry shale consortia: the North American Gas Shale, Haynesville and Bossier Shale and Eagle Ford Shale consortia organized by Core Laboratories, LP. Its oil and natural gas exploration, development, production and related operations are subject to extensive federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
