Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc is a bank holding company. The Company through its subsidiaries offers commercial banking, trust banking, securities, credit cards, consumer finance, asset management, leasing and many more fields of financial services.

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc was established on April 2, 2001. The Company through its subsidiaries provides banking and financial services. Its services include commercial banking, trust banking, securities, credit cards, consumer finance, asset management, and leasing. The Company's operating business segments are Retail Banking Business, Corporate Banking Business, Trust Assets Business, Global Business and Global Markets Business. The Retail Banking Business covers all retail businesses, including commercial banking, trust banking and securities businesses, and offers a full range of banking products and services, including financial consulting services, to retail customers in Japan. The Corporate Banking Business covers domestic corporate businesses, including commercial banking, investment banking, trust banking and securities businesses, as well as businesses outside of Japan assisting mainly Japanese companies in executing and expanding their operations. The Trust Assets Business covers asset management and administration services for products such as pension trusts and security trusts by integrating the trust banking expertise of MUTB and the international strengths of BTMU. The Global Business is charged with the responsibility of effectively coordinating and enhancing its group--wide efforts to strengthen and expand the Company's businesses outside Japan. The Global Business Group is designed to bring together the leadership in, and enhance the coordination for, its business strategies outside Japan on a group--wide basis. The Global Markets Business covers the businesses specialized in financial markets products such as sales and trading, asset and liability management, and strategic investments globally on a group--wide basis. The Company is regulated under the Banking Law of Japan.
