National Bancshares Corp was incorporated in 1985. The company operates as the holding company for First National Bank that provides financial services in Ohio. The company accepts various deposits, which include regular and money market savings accounts, NOW accounts, and fixed-maturity and fixed-rate certificates. Its loan portfolio comprises commercial loans, commercial real estate loans, construction loans, residential mortgage and home equity loans, and secured and unsecured consumer installment loans. In addition, the company provides debit cards, gift cards, travel cards, travelers` checks, official checks, money orders, ATM services, and individual retirement accounts. It operates 14 offices in Wayne, Medina, Stark, and Summit counties, as well as a loan production office in the Columbiana County. Further, the company, through its subsidiary, NBOH Properties, LLC, owns a multi-tenant commercial building in Fairlawn, Ohio. In addition to competing with other commercial and savings banks and savings and loan associations, the Bank competes with credit unions, finance companies, leasing companies, mortgage companies, insurance companies, brokerage and investment banking firms, asset-based non-bank lenders and many other financial service firms. The Company is subject to regulation, supervision, and examination by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, acting mainly through the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
