Targa Resources Partners LP is a publicly traded Delaware limited partnership formed in October 2006 by Targa Resources Corp. The Company owns, operates, acquires and develops a diversified portfolio of complementary midstream energy assets. It is a provider of midstream natural gas and NGL services in the United States, with a growing presence in crude oil gathering and petroleum terminaling. Its activities include gathering, compressing, treating, processing and selling natural gas, storing, fractionating, treating, transporting, terminaling and selling NGLs and NGL products, gathering, storing and terminaling crude oil, and storing, terminaling and selling refined petroleum products. To provide these services, it operates in two primary divisions Gathering and Processing, consisting of two reportable segments Field Gathering and Processing and Coastal Gathering and Processing, and Logistics and Marketing consisting of two reportable segments, Logistics Assets and Marketing and Distribution. The Company faces strong competition in acquiring new natural gas supplies. Competition for natural gas and crude oil supplies is primarily based on the location of gathering and processing facilities, pricing arrangements, reputation, efficiency, flexibility, reliability and access to end-use markets or liquid marketing hubs. Its competitors include Atlas Gas Pipeline Company, Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P., WTG Gas Processing, L.P., DCP Midstream Partners LP, Devon Energy Corp, Enbridge Inc, ONEOK - Rockies Midstream, L.L.C., GulfSouth Pipeline Company, LP, Hanlon Gas Processing, Ltd., J W Operating Company, Louisiana Intrastate Gas and several other interstate pipeline companies. Its competitors for crude oil gathering services in North Dakota include Arrow Midstream Holdings, LLC, Hiland Partners, LP, Great Northern Midstream LLC, Caliber Midstream Partners, LP and Bridger Pipeline LLC.
