North Valley Bancorp was incorporated in 1980 in the State of California. It is a bank holding Company for North Valley Bank (NVB) and is engaged in the business of commercial and retail banking. The Company's main business consists of attracting deposits from the general public and using the funds to originate commercial, real estate, and installment loans to customers, who are small and middle-market businesses, and middle-income individuals. The Company's main source of revenue is interest income from its loan and investment securities portfolios. The Company conducts a commercial and retail banking business, which includes accepting demand, savings, and money market rate deposit accounts and time deposits, and making commercial, real estate and consumer loans. It also issues cashier's checks and money orders, sells travelers' checks and provides safe deposit boxes and other customary banking services. The Company operates twenty-four banking offices in Shasta, Trinity, Humboldt, Del Norte, Yolo, Solano, Sonoma, Placer, and Mendocino Counties. The Company also provides special services and programs for individuals in its primary service area who are employed in the agricultural, professional and business fields, such as loans for equipment, furniture, tools of the trade or expansion of practices or businesses.
