Neenah Paper Inc was incorporated in April 2004 in contemplation of the spin-off by Kimberly-Clark Corporation of its technical products and fine paper businesses in the United States and its Canadian pulp business. It is organized into two primary businesses: a specialty, performance-based technical products business and a premium fine papers business. Its technical products business is a producer of transportation and other filter media and durable, saturated and coated substrates for industrial products backings and a variety of other end markets. Its products include transportation and other filter media, specialty tape, label, abrasive, medical packaging and image transfer and customer-specific applications in furniture veneer backing and durable print and cover applications. Its customers are located in more than 70 countries. Its technical products manufacturing facilities are located in Munising, Michigan and near Munich and Frankfurt, Germany. Its fine paper business is a supplier of premium writing, text and cover papers, bright papers and specialty papers in North America. Its premium writing, text, cover and specialty papers are used in commercial printing and imaging applications for corporate identity packages, invitations, personal stationery and corporate annual reports, as well as, premium labels and luxury packaging. Its bright papers are used in applications such as direct mail, advertising inserts, scrapbooks and marketing collateral. Softwood pulp, specialty pulp and latex are the primary raw materials consumed by its technical products business. Hardwood pulp is the primary fiber used to produce products of the fine paper business. Its brands include JET-PROSofStretch, KIMDURA, MUNISING LP, PREVAIL, NEENAH, GESSNER and varitess, STARWHITE, SUNDANCE, ESSE and OXFORD. The Company's competitors include Ahlstrom Corporation, Munksjö, ArjoWiggins SAS, P.H. Glatfelter Company and Hollingsworth & Vose Company. Its operations are subject to federal, state and local laws, regulations and ordinances relating to various environmental, health and safety matters.
