NVE Corp is a Minnesota corporation founded on March 8, 1989. The Company develops and sells devices that use spintronics, a nanotechnology that relies on electron spin rather than electron charge to acquire, store and transmit information. It manufactures spintronic products including sensors and couplers that are used to acquire and transmit data. It has also licensed its spintronic magnetoresistive random access memory technology, commonly known as MRAM. The Company's products include sensor products including Standard sensors, Custom and medical sensors; Coupler Products including ost-effective IL500-Series couplers; IL600-Series passive-input couplers; IL700/IL200-Series high-speed couplers; and IL4/IL3-Series isolated network couplers; and IL800-Series top-of-the-line couplers; and MRAM Products. The Company's sources of raw materials include suppliers of raw silicon and semiconductor foundry wafers that are incorporated into its products, and suppliers of device packaging services. The Company's distributor includes Digi-Key Corporation, Premier Farnell plc companies, and Rhopoint Components Ltd. The Company faces competition from companies including Hamlin, Inc., Hermetic Switch, Inc., Meder Electronic AG (Engen/Welschingen, Germany), Memscap SA (Grenoble, France), Fairchild Semiconductor International, Lite-On Technology Corporation, Renesas Electronics Corporation, Toshiba Corporation, and Vishay Intertechnology. NVE and IsoLoop are its registered trademarks. Other trademarks it claims include GMR Switch and GT Sensor. The Company is subject to environmental laws and regulations, particularly with respect to industrial waste and emissions.
