National Western Life Insurance is a stock life insurance company, chartered in the State of Colorado in 1956. The company provides life insurance products for the savings and protection needs of approximately 133,000 policyholders and for the asset accumulation and retirement needs of 141,000 annuity contract holders. Its offerings encompass individual whole life, universal life and term insurance plans, and annuities, including supplementary riders. Its life insurance products include universal life insurance, interest-sensitive whole life, and traditional products such as term insurance coverage. The Annuity products are sold include flexible premium and single premium deferred annuities, equity-indexed annuities, and single premium immediate annuities. Its operations are segmented into two - Domestic Insurance Operations and International Insurance Operations. The majority of domestic segment sales comprises of the annuities and related products. These products are marketed and distributed primarily through independent national marketing organizations. The International operations focus on foreign nationals in upper socioeconomic classes. The insurance products are issued primarily to residents of countries in Central and South America, the Caribbean, the Pacific Rim, Eastern Europe, and Asia.
