Teck Resources Ltd is engaged in mining and related activities including exploration, development, processing, smelting, refining and reclamation. Its major products are steelmaking coal, copper, zinc and lead.

Teck Resources Ltd was continued under the Canada Business Corporations Act in 1978. It is the continuing company resulting from the merger in 1963 of the interests of The Teck-Hughes Gold Mines Ltd., Lamaque Gold Mines Limited and Canadian Devonian Petroleum Ltd., companies incorporated in 1913, 1937 and 1951 respectively. The Company is engaged in mining and related activities including exploration, development, processing, smelting, refining and reclamation. Its products include steelmaking coal, copper, zinc and lead. It also produces precious metals, molybdenum, electrical power, fertilizers and other metals. Metal products are sold as refined metals or concentrates. It also owns an interest in a wind power facility and in certain oil sands leases and have a partnership interest in an oil sands development project now under construction.
