OmniAmerican Bancorp, Inc., was incorporated on 1956 in the state of Maryland. It is the holding company for OmniAmerican Bank. On January 20, 2010 the Bank completed its initial public stock offering. The Bank's business consists of accepting deposits from the general public and investing those deposits, together with funds generated from operations and borrowings, in loans and investments. The lending activities include mortgage loans secured by residential real estate, consumer loans, consisting indirect automobile loans and commercial real estate, real estate construction, and commercial business. The Bank currently renders its services to commercial, direct retail and mortgage lending. The loans are originated from its Fort Worth, Texas office and from the Bank's branch network in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and North Texas. The Bank sells the long-term, fixed-rate one to four family residential real estate loans. In addition to loans, the Bank invests in government sponsored mortgage-backed securities and government sponsored collateralized mortgage obligations and in agency bonds, municipal obligations and equity securities. The Bank competes with commercial banks, savings institutions, mortgage brokerage firms, credit unions, finance companies, mutual funds, insurance companies, and investment banking firms.
