Tatneft PJSC was incorporated in Russia on January 1, 1994. The Company along with its subsidiaries is engaged in crude oil exploration, development and production in the Republic of Tatarstan ("Tatarstan"), a republic within the Russian Federation. The Company is also engaged in refining and marketing of crude oil and refined products as well as production and marketing of petrochemicals. The Company operates in three segments including exploration and production, refining and marketing, and petrochemical products. The Exploration and production includes exploration, development, extraction and sale of its crude oil. Inter-segment sales consist of transfer of crude oil to refinery and other goods and services provided to other operating segments. The Refining and marketing segment purchases and sells crude oil and refined products from third parties, its own refining activities and retailing operations. The Petrochemical products include production and sales of tires and petrochemical raw materials and refined products, which are used in production of tires. The Company is also engaged in the sales of oilfield equipment and drilling services to other companies in Tatarstan.
