Ophir Energy PLC is an upstream oil and gas exploration company. The Company is engaged in the development of offshore and deepwater oil and gas exploration assets located in Africa and Asia.

Ophir Energy PLC was incorporated on February 18, 2004 in England. It is an upstream oil and gas exploration company. The Company is engaged in the development of offshore and deepwater oil and gas exploration assets. It operates diverse portfolio of exploration interests across Africa and Asia. In Equatorial Guinea, the company has an operated interest in Block R to the west of Bioko Island. The Company also has interest in the Block L9 PSC in Kenya. The Block L9 contains two principal play systems, an inboard carbonate play and an outboard clastic play. In Thailand, the company has two producing assets. It has an operated interest in the Bualuang oil field in the Gulf of Thailand and an interest in the Sinphuhorm gas field, onshore Northeast Thailand. In Tanzania, the company has opened the Mafia Deep Basin, offshore Tanzania and has discovered 17 Tcf of gross contingent resource. The Company has operated participating interest in the deepwater exploration Block AD-03 offshore Myanmar. In Malaysia, the company currently has one operated PSC in Malaysia and is actively looking to create a portfolio of exploration opportunities. It has interests in six blocks in Gabon: Mbeli, Ntsina, Manga, Gnondo, Nkouere and Nkawa. All of these are located offshore in the North Gabon basin. It has interests in 12 PSCs in Indonesia. These include the Kerendan gas field development and two adjacent exploration licences, North East Bangkanai and West Bangkanai in onshore Kalimantan; four exploration licences in the Makassar Strait and four deepwater exploration licences in Eastern Indonesia.
