Oritani Financial Corp is the stock holding company for Oritani Bank. It operates as a retail and commercial bank and provides banking and financial services to individual and business customers in New Jersey.

Oritani Financial Corp is a Delaware corporation that was incorporated in March 2010.The Company is the successor to Oritani Financial Corp, a federal corporation and former stock holding company of Oritani Bank. The Company is engaged in retail and commercial bank deposits from the general public in the Township of Washington, New Jersey and investing those deposits, together with funds generated from operations, in commercial real estate loans, one to four family residential mortgage loans as well as in second mortgage and equity loans, and investment securities. Its sources of funds are deposits, borrowings and principal and interest payments on loans and securities. The Company operates in four counties of New Jersey: Bergen, Hudson, Essex and Passaic. The Company competes with commercial banks, savings institutions, mortgage banking firms, insurance companies, the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, the Federal National Mortgage Association, credit unions. short-term money market funds, brokerage firms, mutual funds and insurance companies.
