Bank of the Ozarks Inc was incorporated in June 1981. The Company owns an Arkansas state chartered subsidiary bank, Bank of the Ozarks, which conducts banking operations through banking offices in several communities. The Company provides retail and commercial banking services. Deposit services include checking, savings, money market, time deposit and individual retirement accounts. Loan services include various types of real estate, consumer, commercial, industrial and agricultural loans and various leasing services. It also provides mortgage lending, treasury management services including wholesale lock box services, remote deposit capture services, trust and wealth management services including financial planning and money management for individuals and businesses, custodial services and retirement planning, real estate appraisals, credit-related life and disability insurance, ATMs, telephone banking, Internet banking including on-line bill pay, debit cards among other products and services. Through third party provider, the Company offers credit cards for consumers and businesses, processing of merchant credit card transactions, and full service investment brokerage services. While the Bank provides a variety of retail and commercial banking services, it operates in only one segment; community banking. The Companys loan portfolio includes different types of real estate loans, consumer loans, commercial and industrial loans, agricultural loans and other types of loans. Some of its properties collateralizing the companys loan portfolio are located within the trade areas of the companys offices. The Companys lease portfolio consists mainly of small ticket direct financing commercial equipment leases. Its portfolio of real estate loans includes loans secured by residential 1-4 family, non-farm/non-residential, agricultural, construction/land development, multifamily residential properties and other land loans. The Company offers a variety of real estate loan products that are generally amortized over five to thirty years, payable in monthly or other periodic installments of main and interest, and due and payable in full at a balloon maturity generally within one to seven years. Its portfolio of consumer loans includes loans to individuals for household, family and other personal expenditures. Its commercial and industrial loan portfolio consists of loans for commercial, industrial and professional purposes including loans to fund working capital requirements, purchases of machinery and equipment and other purposes. It also offers residential mortgage products including long-term fixed and variable rate loans to be sold on a servicing-released basis in the secondary market. Its market areas include the northern, western and central portions of Arkansas, the metropolitan Dallas, Texas area, the Texarkana area, Austin, Texas and the metropolitan Charlotte, North Carolina area, portions of Georgia; Wilmington, North Carolina; Bluffto
