Panasonic Corp is engaged in manufacturing, distributing & selling electric & electronic products. Its products include washing machine, vacuum cleaners, lighting fixtures; LCD TVs, electrical & welding equipment. It is also engaged in housing business.

Panasonic Corp, formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., was incorporated in Japan in 1935 under the laws of Japan as Matsushita Denki Sangyo Kabushiki Kaisha. As of October 1, 2008, the Company changed its name from 'Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.' to 'Panasonic Corporation'. It is a manufacturer of electronic and electric products for a range of consumer, business and industrial uses, as well as a number of components. The Company divides its businesses into five segments: Appliances, Eco Solutions, AVC Networks, Automotive & Industrial Systems and Other. Appliances include flat panel TVs, air-conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, personal-care products, microwave ovens, home audio equipment, video equipment, vacuum cleaners, rice cookers, bicycles, electric motors, compressors, showcases, large-sized air-conditioners, fuel cells, among others. Eco Solutions include lighting fixtures, lamps, wiring devices, solar photovoltaic systems, water-related products, interior furnishing materials, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment, air purifiers, nursing-care-related products, among others. AVC Networks include aircraft in-flight entertainment systems, PCs, projectors, digital cameras, mobile phones, surveillance cameras, fixed-phones and faxes, social infrastructure systems equipment, among others. Automotive & Industrial Systems include car-use-multimedia-related equipment, electrical components, lithium-ion batteries, storage batteries, dry batteries, electronic components, electronic materials, automation controls, semiconductors, LCD panels, optical devices, electronic-components-mounting machines, welding equipment, among others. Other includes detached housing, rental apartment housing, land and buildings for sale, home remodeling, imported materials and components, among others. The Company is subject to environmental regulations such as those relating to air pollution, water pollution, elimination of hazardous substances, waste management, product recycling, and soil and groundwater contamination.
