PulteGroup Inc is a Michigan corporation organized in 1956. The Company is a homebuilder in the United States. Its business includes the acquisition and development of land primarily for residential purposes within the U.S. and the construction of housing on such land. Its brands include Pulte Homes, Del Webb, and Centex. It offers a variety of home designs, including single-family detached, townhouses, condominiums, and duplexes at different prices and with varying levels of options and amenities to its customer groups: entry-level, move-up, and active adult. As of December 31, 2013, the Company conducted its operations in 48 markets located throughout 27 states. The Company's reportable segment for its financial services operations, which consist principally of mortgage banking and title operations. It competes with are numerous homebuilders. It also competes with sales of existing house inventory, and any provider of housing units, for sale or to rent, including apartment operators, may be considered a competitor. The operations of the Company are subject to building, environmental, and other regulations of various federal, state, and local governing authorities.
