The Company designs, manufactures and sells snow and ice control equipment for light trucks, which consists of snowplows, sand and salt spreaders, and related parts and accessories. It sells its products under the WESTERN, FISHER and BLIZZARD brands. The Company holds approximately 29 U.S. registered trademarks including WESTERN, FISHER, BLIZZARD, SNOWEX, TURFEX and SWEEPEX, 10 Canadian registered trademarks, 5 European trademarks, 43 U.S. issued patents, 11 Canadian patents and two Chinese trademarks. It sells its products through a distributor network primarily to professional snowplowers who are contracted to remove snow and ice from commercial, municipal and residential areas. The Company's products are sold through a network of over 2,100 points of sale. Direct points of shipment are predominantly through North American truck equipment and lawn care equipment distributors. Its primary competitors include Northern Star Industries, Inc. and Meyer Products LLC. The Company's operations are subject to certain federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to, among other things, the generation, storage, handling, emission, transportation, disposal and discharge of hazardous and non-hazardous substances and materials into the environment, the manufacturing of motor vehicle accessories and employee health and safety.
