PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Persero Tbk is incorporated on February 1, 2002. The Company operates in the business of transporting natural gas for the domestic and international markets through pipelines. The Company currently operates more than 1,000 kilometers of gas pipeline, both on- and offshore, which connect Grissik with Duri and Grissik with Singapore. The Company operates in three segments namely transmission/transportation, distribution/trading and other business segments (fiber optic capacity leasing, and construction and maintenance business). The Transmission Business Activity involves transporting the producer's natural gas through a high pressure transmission pipeline to the offtaker's transfer point. The distribution/trading business is managed by the Strategic Business Unit (SBU). The operating area of the distribution/trading business includes Jakarta, Bogor, Bekasi, Banten, Karawang, Cirebon, Palembang, Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, Medan, Pekanbaru and Batam. The distribution/commercial business activity is managed by the sales and service units. The other segments in the business operation include fiber optic capacity leasing for network provision and construction and maintenance service.
