GuruFocus Profitability Rank ranks how profitable a company is and how likely the company’s business will stay that way. It is based on these factors:

1. Operating Margin
2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Profitability Rank is not directly related to the Financial Strength Rank. But if a company is consistently profitable, its financial strength will be stronger.

U S Auto Parts Network Inc is a distributor of aftermarket auto parts and accessories. Its products include body parts, engine parts, and performance parts & accessories sold to individual consumers through a network of websites and online marketplaces.

U.S. Auto Parts Network Inc was incorporated in Delaware in 1995. The Company provides online sources for automotive aftermarket parts and repair information. The Company sells its products to individual consumers through its network of websites and online marketplaces. The Company has classified its products into three subcategories by function: collision parts serving the body repair segment, engine parts to serve the replacement/wear parts market and performance parts and accessories. The collision parts category is comprised of parts for the exterior of an automobile. Its parts in this category are typically replacement parts for original body parts that have been damaged as a result of a collision or through general wear and tear. The engine parts category is comprised of engine and chassis components as well as other mechanical and electrical parts. These parts serve as replacement parts for existing engine parts and are generally used by professionals and do-it-yourselfers for engine and mechanical maintenance and repair. Performance parts and accessories generally consist of parts that enhance the performance of the automobile, upgrade existing functionality of a specific part or improve the physical appearance or comfort of the automobile. The Company also sells its products through online marketplaces, including third-party auction sites and shopping portals, which provide them with access to additional consumer segments. It sells and delivers to collision repair shops from its Carson, California and Chesapeake, Virginia warehouse facilities. The Company also markets its Kool-Vue products nationwide to auto parts wholesale distributors and serve consumers by operating a retail outlet store in LaSalle, Illinois. The Company's competitors in national auto parts retailers includes Advance Auto Parts, AutoZone, Napa Auto Parts, CarQuest, O'Reilly Automotive and Pep Boys; and in large online marketplaces is Amazon.com and sellers on eBay. The Company is subject to federal and state consumer protection laws, including laws protecting the privacy of customer non-public information and the handling of customer complaints and regulations prohibiting unfair and deceptive trade practices.
