Prudential Financial Inc through it's subsidiaries and affiliates, offers financial products and services, including life insurance, annuities, retirement-related services, mutual funds and investment management.

Prudential Financial Inc was incorporated on December 28, 1999. The Company is a financial services company providing financial products and services, including life insurance, annuities, retirement-related services, mutual funds and investment management. It offers these products and services to individual and institutional customers through proprietary and third-party distribution networks. The Company's principal operations are comprised of four divisions, which together encompass seven segments, and its Corporate and Other operations. The U.S. Retirement Solutions and Investment Management division consists of Individual Annuities, Retirement and Asset Management segments. The U.S. Individual Life and Group Insurance division consists of Individual Life and Group Insurance segments. The International Insurance division consists of International Insurance segment. The Closed Block division consists of Closed Block segment. The U.S. Retirement Solutions and Investment Management division conducts its business through the Individual Annuities, Retirement and Asset Management segments. Individual Annuities segment manufactures and distributes individual variable and fixed annuity products, to the U.S. mass affluent market. Retirement segment, which it refers to in the marketplace as Prudential Retirement, provides retirement investment and income products and services to retirement plan sponsors in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. Its full service business provides recordkeeping, plan administration, actuarial advisory services, tailored participant education and communication services, trustee services and institutional and retail investments. The Asset Management segment provides a broad array of investment management and advisory services by means of institutional portfolio management, retail funds management, private lending and asset securitization activity and other structured products. The U.S. Individual Life and Group Insurance division conducts its business through the Individual Life and Group Insurance segments. Individual Life segment manufactures and distributes individual variable life, term life and universal life insurance products to the U.S. mass middle, mass affluent and affluent markets. Group Insurance segment offers group life, long-term and short-term group disability, and group corporate-, bank- and trust-owned life insurance in the U.S. to institutional clients for use in connection with employee plans and affinity groups. It also sells accidental death and dismemberment and other ancillary coverages, and provide plan administrative services in connection with insurance coverages. The International Insurance division conducts its business through the International Insurance segment that manufactures and distributes individual life insurance, retirement and related products, including certain health products with fixed benefits.
