Business Description

P.A.M. Transportation Services Inc. is a holding Company incorporated under the laws of the State of Delaware in June 1986. The Company is a truckload dry-van carrier transporting general commodities throughout the continental United States, as well as in certain Canadian provinces. It also provides transportation services in Mexico under agreements with Mexican carriers. Its freight consists of automotive parts, expedited goods, consumer goods, such as general retail store merchandise, and manufactured goods, such as heating and air conditioning units. The Company's operations are all in the motor carrier segment and are aggregated into a single operating segment. Its operations can generally be classified into truckload services or brokerage and logistics services. Truckload services include those transportation services in which P.A.M utilizes Company owned trucks or owner-operator owned trucks for the pickup and delivery of freight. The brokerage and logistics services consists of services such as transportation scheduling, routing, mode selection, transloading, and other value added services related to the transportation of freight which may or may not involve the use of Company owned or owner-operator owned equipment. Its objective is to provide its customers with a comprehensive solution to their truckload transportation needs. The Company competes mainly with other irregular route medium- to long-haul truckload carriers, with private carriage conducted by its existing and potential customers, and, to a lesser extent, with the railroads. It competes on the basis of quality of service and delivery performance, as well as price. The Company's operations are subject to various environmental laws and regulations.
