PrivateBancorp Inc was incorporated in Delaware in 1989 and became a holding company registered under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, as amended. The Company, through its subsidiaries, provides customized business and personal financial services to middle-market commercial and commercial real estate companies as well as business owners, executives, entrepreneurs and wealthy families. The Banks deliver a sophisticated suite of tailored credit and non-credit solutions, including lending, treasury management, investment products, capital markets products and wealth management and trust services, to meet their clients' commercial and personal needs. Since the company's inception, it has expanded into multiple geographic markets in the Midwest and Southeastern United States through the creation of new banks and banking offices and the acquisition of existing banks. Its clients also have access to mortgage loans offered through The PrivateBank Mortgage Company, a subsidiary of the Company. Its services are organized around five lines of business: Illinois Commercial and Specialty Banking, National Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, PrivateClients, and the PrivateWealth Group. Through Commercial Banking Services, the company offers a range of lending products to businesses owned by or affiliated with its clients. It offers lines of credit for working capital, term loans for equipment and other investment purposes, and letters of credit to support the commitments its clients make. The company's treasury management services include a suite of collection, disbursement, information reporting, and investment products to assist clients to optimize their cash flow. New commercial banking services include capital markets products such as interest rate protection, derivatives, options and foreign exchange. The company provides real estate loan products to businesses and individuals. It provides a range of fixed and floating-rate permanent and interim mortgages for its clients to finance a number of owner-occupied properties as well as investment properties, such as apartment buildings, office buildings, and shopping centers. It also provides construction lending for commercial developments. The wealth management services offered to clients of its The PrivateWealth Group include investment management, personal trust, guardianship and estate administration services, custody services, retirement accounts, and brokerage services. The Company's wealth management personnel work with its clients to define objectives, goals and strategies for their investment portfolios. It provides a range of commercial, real estate and personal lending products and services to its clients.
